$20 bucks a month to rent a phone? No service, just the phone!
Do your grandparents have an old push button phone that has been around their house forever? Uh-oh! They could be paying outrageously for that old technology.
Back in the day, everyone leased their phones. Then the rules changed and most consumers turned in the leased models and bought phones. However, some consumers apparently didn't get the memo and continue to lease to this day. They pay anywhere from $4.95 to $19.95 per month!
All old phones are not leased and all new ones aren't purchased, some seniors have traded in their old rentals for new ones.
If the phones are leased, the charge will be on the phone bill, but it may not be easy to find. Look for charges connected with the words "leased," "equipment," and "services" that are charged to QLT Consumer Lease Services.
