Getting a deal on an extended warranty is a snap. Most consumers think they can only buy an extended warranty when purchasing the original item. That was the case, but now retailers have competition. An online company offers extended warranties at deep discount. But don’t stop there, get a price online and then let your retailer bid for the business.
Here’s where to start: www.squaretrade.com
Michael, I take your posting info about this company as your endorsement of them. I asked for a quote for an $800 washer. Their price was $49 for 3 years. That's absurd! Is it one of those "if it's too good to be true..." cases? Or is it really a reputable company? If it is, kudos (again & again) to you.

Here is an e-mail I got from my cousin, My Cousin wrote, All of these politicians should be voted out in 2010 who are running to stop this kind of wasteful spending of OUR tax dollars!!! Both parties!!! "THIS HAS GOT TO BE THE BEST CASE OF THE GOVERNMENT WASTING OUR MONEY. IF I DID NOT SEE IT WITH MY OWN EYES, I WOULD NOT BELIEVE IT AND THEY GET AWAY WITH IT. Watch this video. Be sure to have your audio on. There is a brief (30 seconds or so) commercial prior to the video. How come Diane Sawyer didn't bring this up with the president?
This is unconscionable! AND IT'S TRUE. LIVE BROADCAST on Network News ... ABC news. Take a look and listen. Our tax dollars at work!! Thanks to those IDIOTS in Washington! http://abcnews.go.com/Video/playerIndex?id=7415354. Is this a true report?

Michael,
I was listening on Sat. to a caller who said he purchased a "cruise on the QM2 for the fall from New York to the northeast at an apparent $900 savings" some sort of auction. When they didn't deliver his tickets he called and was told he'd have "to pay some $900 in port charges". This was a scam even before he put down the $1400 for the purported cost of the cruise. I am a professional travel agent and none of the cruise lines sanction or participate in "auctions". People need to be aware of who they're dealing with. A reputable travel agent could have saved him a lot of concern and out and out being defrauded. Travel is not as simple as it appears but there are plenty of reputable agents who will steer you in the right direction if you'll only look.
