One estimate: 10% of all California speeding tickets are written illegally, 25% of red light camera tickets are too. Those are the accusations floating around in the “gear head” community. Those taking on the powers that be want you to fight back!

i received a ticket for parking in a "red zone". Luckily I took a photo of where my car bumper was and I appealed it. It has been 8 weeks and NO RESPONSE. I was clearly NOT in a red zone. It was written at 10 am on a Saturday. The way DPT is writing tickets it's as if it is illegal to have a car in SF. It is egregious to the 9th degree.

got a ticket for ashing out the window - CV231111 was the code. completely unenforceable, but when the county needs 3k, a nice easy way to break the law. until its required to have an ashtray when walking down the street, ashing is 100% legal. butts and matches on the otherhand are illegal when thrown while walking or driving. i'm beginning to have a negative view of the police.
