Actually Lysol works great to kill the ants and destroy the ant trail that they follow.
Ant spikes are good to help kill the nest.

Good to know about ants. We had an annoying experience with ants in our kitchen this spring but never though of using Windex. Those ant traps are a waste of money. The best solution is to find the source outside like ant hills or just seeing their presence then using AMDRO Ant Block which can't be used indoors.
I'll try Windex next time.
