If you are in debt for the first time, you are under a lot of stress and it is about to get worse. Soon the “wolves at the door will become at the bill collectors on the phone, lawyers writing letters and repossession specialists at your home. So what are your rights? Take a moment and read up on them now.
1) Debt collectors can not call you before 8:00 am or after 9PM unless you agree to it.
2) Collectors can not call you at work once you have told them not to, it is best to put that in writing.
3) Once you write a debt collector and tell them not to contact you again, they must stop. There are two exceptions: a collector can contact you to tell you there will be no further contact or to let you know that they or the creditor intend to take a specific action, like filing a lawsuit.

It is very shame full and there behavior is really unacceptable. Some thing need to be done to change the situation.
