Do the portable fireplaces drastically cut your heating bill? Are the fireplaces made by Amish workers? Those are the questions being asked today in a lawsuit filed again the company famous for its Amish Fireplace Ads! The Associated Press says the lawsuit The Heat Surge fireplaces boasting "genuine Amish mantles" were inefficient. It says parts were made in China and didn't involve Amish workers in the U.S. as implied in advertising. There was no immediate comment from the company about the lawsuit on Tuesday. The company says on its website it prides itself on the superior quality of its products.

I tend to agree with their inefficiency. And if they advertised a lie, then they should be punished.

THEY COME WITH A 30 DAY WARRANTY,BY THE TIME YOUR BILL ARRIVES AND YOU SEE HOOW MUCH THEY COST TO OPERATE,THEY ARE OUT OF WARRANTY,AND THE COMPANY WILL NOT REFUND THE COST.

The company is very careful about the advertising. The mantles are made by the Amish in N.E. Ohio and the heater is made at their factory in China, just like the ad says. The savings is from zone heating, turn down your thermostat to 65 and use the fireplace to heat the room you are in to 70 and you will save money just like the ad says. Someone should look into the Class action firm who is probably known for bringing lawsuits against every company in hopes of a settlement and a big payday. These firms look for products and companies making money because they are a big target.

I am glad it was appropriately punished. I don't work in a big agency, i am an independent, so I don't have any insight into how agencies bill, but I know how I do it, and there is no padding there, so for others to muddy that up is pretty irritating indee

Ours has gone a bulb and nowthe heating element. It has never worked great I'm am very dissappointed in this for how much we paid for it. My aunt also bought one and the same thing happens to hers in the time frame so I'm thinking there rigged to go out so they can continue to make money off of a product you already bought.
