Generic drugs are the same, but cheaper drug as their brand named counterparts. For years doctors and consumer advocates have always encouraged us to take the generic and save money. They may want to rethink that advice. A recent Supreme Court ruling says consumers injured by generic medications can't sure the manufacturer for failure to explain the risks because the generic drug maker doesn't have say over the warning label. So now generic drugs may have the same chemical make up as their brand named cousins, but they do not offer all the same protections.
