Here is a common question; "should I change my password"? Here is a simple way to check. Go to this website. Put in your email address. It is checked against a data base of known hacked email addresses. I found my email address there... and changed my password. It takes about 10 seconds.

Scammers ripping off Google Places
Fake locksmiths are gaming Google Places. They trick the search engine into thinking they are local, when really they are far off telephone answering services waiting to rip you off. I've investigated the phony locksmiths and now the New York Times has investigated Google's roll in the rip-off.

The California Senate Judiciary Committee took the first step toward creation of a “Do Not Track Me” option in California. Web tracking company gave info to marketers
Sentry software allows parents to spy on their children’s internet activities. The Federal Trade Commission says when Sentry is installed on a computer, parents can log in to their Sentry account and view the activity taking place on the target computer, including chat conversations, instant messaging and web history. But unknown to parents, the FTC says, the company was then turning around and giving that information to marketers. An agreement has now been reached and Sentry agreed to knock it off. No real surprise here: spies, spy. Your mom could have told you that.
