Welcome to the ABC7 live blog of Apple's Sept. 1 media event. We'll be here before, during and after the event to learn what Apple has in store for the upcoming holiday season. The event begins at 10 AM Pacific time (1 PM Eastern).
Speculation has been rampant about a redesigned iPod, a newer iPod touch, a replacement for AppleTV (perhaps with a new name, such as iTV), and possibly an announcement about a hardware solution for the antenna problem in the iPhone 4.
Below is the image from the Apple invitation to selected media. The artwork tends to reflect the theme of the event, so it's likely that most of the focus will be on Apple's music players. However, CEO Steve Jobs is always famous for surprises, so you'll have to stay tuned for the unexpected.
The event is being held at the Yerba Buena Center for the Performing Arts, which is part of the Moscone Convention Center complex in San Francisco's South of Market (SOMA) district. Your blogger is David Louie, tech and business reporter at ABC7 News in San Francisco.
