It's a five-minute countdown to the start of the keynote speech at Google I/O, the annual developers conference that has drawn 5,000 techies from around the world to Moscone West. The third floor assembly hall is jam-packed, elbow-to-elbow, anticipating the announcement of Google's new music cloud storage service and other news. A news conference will follow the hour-long keynote.
Google was trying to be green and issue bar codes in email to speed up registration and badge pick-up. The scanner wasn't working where I checked in this morning. Hope that's the only glitch today.
Wifi is available but a tad slow. Will keep updating this live blog over the next hour as the news rolls out. Stay tuned!

Hi! I'm sure that your scanner will work just fine... many times when I start the day, many devices don't work right - well, I guess they also need time to wake up :)
